So, you may have noticed that I have a thing for binder rings this year! I created these class passes and posters and decided (for my class at least) that I am going to take the full page posters, hang them from binder rings, and use clothespins on them to maintain my passes this year. My classroom last year was done up in owls…I just think they are so cute and there are so many teaching and room decorations out there these days that have owls on them…so it was easy the fall in love with them. That’s how I felt when I found these “owl”dorable owls, so I just had to make something with them. I had already decided that I want to put a Critics Corner in my classroom this year because I am going to really be asking the students to put a lot of thought in their reading this school year. What better way than to have a Critics Corner where students can leave book reviews on the books they have just read; recommending them to others by using a star rating system! Set includes 3 posters, 1 Star Rating Chart and a book review form for the students to use to fill out their critique. I am looking forward to using this in my classroom and I hope you like it too! Well hello bloggie buddies! I wanted to write a super quick post to share with you my fun and funky photo booth glasses that I made for my room this year. I made these cute glasses/sunglasses to use for the first day of school in my classroom. I thought it would be great fun if we could have a little photo booth set up with fun props for the students to choose from and then I snap a picture to go into a class book and/or be sent home as a family keepsake.
What I did was print these onto cardstock and cut them out. I left some as sunglasses and some I cut out the white centers to make as glasses (I think these will be my favorites because you can see their eyes!) After I printed and cut them, I taped them to a really thin dowel rod (Wal-Mart or home improvement store) and placed them in the photo booth area in my room. Should be a lot of fun for the students and a great loosen up, get to know each other activity!

I hope that you are having a relaxing last week or so before the crazies school begins! I am busy as a bumble bee trying to get everything prepared for my classroom. What all are you doing to prepare for the new year? Please share ideas…I love to hear ways to make my classroom run more smoothly, and (of course) look cuter! Speaking of cute, I wanted to post my Rock Star themed behavior posters for you to see. Apparently I am going clothespin crazy, because I dyed a bunch with Rit dye the other day to make them less boring and I am thinking of adding the students names to them and having them on each side of the poster and moving them either up or down as needed, as their behavior changes throughout the day/week (like the traditional color changes). It’s a GREAT way for the students to be constantly reminded of their behavior (without me having to do it). LOL! Whew! Okay teachers, time flying by for me (and you too probably)! I have one week before in service, so I have been busy, busy planning and creating!
